My Approach

Through a creative, body based approach, I can offer you a space to meet what is challenging or what weighs upon you and nourish what helps you feel well, resourced and grounded.

In our sessions you can expect talking, moving, art making and creative writing but the way the sessions unfold will be guided by you and your process.

My approach is rooted in establishing sustainable relationships to self, others and the world in which we dwell. I combine training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Ecotherapy, Trauma informed therapy, Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory and Somatics.

About me

In my work I have found that, when given the chance, people can discover their own routes into vitality through tuning into the stories of the body. I find that in doing this, it is not to cover over the difficult or challenging but rather to make room for all that needs to be felt. Through talking, moving and making, I offer a way of unfolding these stories so that we might witness their transformation.

Movement is how I have always made sense of the flux of life. I am grateful to the teachers who have guided me, and guide me still, in practices of Dance, Movement, Martial arts and Meditation. My approach is rooted in the knowledge I receive from these practices. This knowledge offers learning in living sustainably with self, others and the more-than-human world.

My interest in facilitation, therapy and creative and embodied practice emerged through being involved in social justice movements. I am, and always have been, passionate about supporting the nourishment and sustainability of communities through creating spaces of belonging, collaboration and dialogue. I have experience working in a range of different charity and third sector settings using integrative methods of trauma informed body-based therapy and expressive arts.

I am the Co-Artistic Director of thisPlace, a trauma-informed dance theatre company based in Wales.

I have shared my work with Health Art Research People (HARP) in partnership with Nesta and Arts Council Wales, with the DPJ Foundation, HAHAV Palliative Care Hospice, The London Art Therapy Centre, Wales Arts Therapies Advisory Forum, Psyche-Delight, The JRS Refugee Service, The Maya Centre, The Govan Community Project, and Unity Sisters amongst others.

I trained at Goldsmiths College, University of London, in Dance Movement Psychotherapy. My practice is continuously developing through research in trauma informed therapy and further training.
