Finding Ground is a set of workshops offering a space to creatively explore sustainable relationships to ourselves -through movement, art making and creative writing - and to the planet - through mediations in nature and learning about planting and growing. Offered in collaboration with the Maya Centre, a counselling service for women in North London, we will be focusing on tuning into the stories of the body from a trauma-informed perspective and unfolding our curiosity for dance and movement as ways of connecting.
Inspired by the Permaculture principles of People Care and Earth Care, we will explore and embody our relationships to groundedness. We’ll be getting our hands dirty through multiple creative practices which will awaken our senses to the interconnectedness of our wellbeing and the planet’s.
Workshops 1 & 2 will take place at The Maya Centre.
We will focus on breath, movement and art making as mediums for building sustainable relationships to ourselves and to others.
Workshops 3 & 4 will take place at Sunny Side Community Gardens.
Expanding on breath, movement and creative practices introduced in Workshops 1 & 2, we will spend time outdoors, bringing awareness to our sensory experiences and learning about growing and caring for plants.
Please note that Workshops 3 & 4 are taking place in a Community Garden which is open to the public.
Spaces are free but limited. It is advisable to attend all four workshops but exceptions can be made if necessary.
